Unlike many of Google's urban campuses, this office is home to a largely engineering-focused workforce with established families, prompting a design centered on community, connection, and work-life balance. The design celebrates a sense of belonging inspired by the theme of Backyard. The workplace is organized into a series of playful neighborhoods, each drawing from familiar outdoor experiences including the Garden, Treehouse, Sandbox, Gazebo, Swing Set, Birdhouse, and The Pool. The café, affectionately named Lemonade Stand, features a stylized lemon tree as its centerpiece. The design results in a thoughtfully branded environment that reflects both Google's culture and the unique identity of its Irvine team.
